Here's L.A. Kings' goalie, Jonathan Quick,

tucked nicely into the goal in a full flat-back Malasana.

Malasana means garland and this garland is clearly protecting the goal.

This pose relies on thighs and mid and lower back, full core stability, length through the shins and ease in the achilles.

Now add all the equipment and lift your head and neck with that helmet on.

And don't let that face mask distract your gaze, your drishti.

Just wait, and watch, and breathe as an ice-hard puck flies 100+ mph directly at you.

Be calm.  Be QUICK.

Now you have yoga.

In theory.

And practice.
