You ever watched one of those webcams that give you a live feed of the surf?
You can check out the waves before crawling out of bed, see if you want to get it together, slide on your slides, grab your board, head out to surf.
But what if you had a cam that could tell you how the surf in your mind is each day?
You know, before you sat down on a cushion and took a few meditative breaths, what if you had a cam that could forewarn you?
If it was choppy, blown out, rip-tide messy, would you go out?
Or actually go IN?
How many times have heard someone say,
"Yeah, the surf was too messy, it just wasn't worth it."
How many times have you said, "Nah, I'm not going out, it's not worth it."
Or "It was whack, not worth it."
How many times have you seen a sign like this one, and felt all the doubts, and thought, quite correctly, maybe not today?
For surfing, that's fine.
But for meditation, the rougher the waters, the deeper the practice.
Paddle into the storm.
It's worth it.
